Milton Reads "To Kill a Mockingbird" - Events & Activities

In April 2009, the City of Milton and the Milton Public Library is joining with other local communities in reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" this April. A Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee, "To Kill a Mockingbird" was first published in 1960. It became an instant success with its themes of racial injustice and the destruction of innocence.

Our goal is to cultivate a city-wide dialogue in Milton by reading great literature together that provokes us to think about our environment, our relationships, and ourselves. Talking with friends, families and neighbors often adds richness and depth to the experience of reading.
